History

The Collaborative Arts and Culture Foundation (CACF) was founded in 2010 to increase cultural engagement by facilitating collaborative efforts between arts and culture organizations.
  • 2007/2008: Box Office Tickets worked with local arts nonprofits to create an affordable and efficient alternative ticketing resource: the PDX Ticket Network, which was launched in March 2008.
  • 2008: Box Office Tickets recognizes the need for a comprehensive Cultural Calendar with a strong online marketing method helping to grow local audiences. This initiative is directly in line with the City of Portland Cultural Plan. Box Office Tickets generously donates more resources to launch Portland’s first comprehensive Cultural Calendar in November 2008.
  • 2009: Box Office Tickets donates more time and resources to work with the Regional Arts and Culture Council, the City of Portland and the nonprofit arts community to combine the ticketing and calendar functions into a new social networking site - HulaHub.org - launched in November 2009.
  • 2010: In 2010, the CEO of Box Office Tickets determined that the intense success of HulaHub necessitated a new organizational structure to both develop the free resources of HulaHub.org and manage the growing needs of its users. Supported by generous contributions of Box Office Tickets Inc. and its affiliates, the nonprofit CACF was incorporated.
The co-founders of the CACF have a combined 50+ years of experience in arts management, development, fundraising, community organizing and other collaborative activities. Their goal is to help arts organizations connect with their audiences across the country and internationally.
